Fenugreek Seed
Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum) is used both as a herb (the leaves) and as a spice (the seed). The name comes from Latin and means "Greek Hay." Native to Southwest Asia, the yellow to amber colored fenugreek seeds (called "Methi" in India) are widely used in pickles, curry powders and pastes.
In the Middle East, fenugreek seed is ground into a paste for vegetable dishes and used in "halvah" (a sweet confection). It is also used to make "khakhra", a type of bread. In Turkey, fenugreek gives its name "çemen" to a hot paste used in "pastirma" (air dried, cured beef). In Yemen, it is the main condiment added to the national dish called "saltah" (chicken, lamb or beef stew with rice).

Why Buy Your Spices at Silver Cloud
Estates?
Why buy spices online when they are so readily available at your local store? The answer is quality and price. The spices sold at your local store are often a year or two old. As spices age, they loose much of their flavor. Silver Cloud's spices are always fresh, never old. Our products are also an excellent value. When you need spices, click on Silver Cloud Estates for the freshest products at great prices.
