French Vanilla Extract, Natural
The term French vanilla was originally used to describe a vanilla custard or ice cream made with cream, egg yolks and vanilla extract. The flavor French vanilla, in addition to vanilla extract contains hazelnut, caramel or butterscotch flavors as well as spice notes such as anise and cassia. This indulgent flavor can be used to replace pure vanilla extract in baked goods, beverages and ice cream. One teaspoon of French Vanilla Extract, Natural is sufficient for your typical cake or cookie recipe.
Silver Cloud's French Vanilla Extract, Natural contains pure vanilla extract (vanilla bean extractives, water and ethyl alcohol) & natural flavor. This flavoring is sugar and gluten-free.

Pure Vanilla Extract
Silver Cloud's Pure Vanilla Extract is made from beans grown on the Silver Cloud Estates and neighboring properties in the beautiful Nilgiri, or Blue Mountains of Southern India.
The Nilgiri’s elevation, rich soil and climate are ideal for growing vanilla and the plants generally thrive. Vanilla beans grown in Southern India are high in natural vanillin; typically much higher than the beans grown in Madagascar, Mexico and other growing areas. Vanillin, gives vanilla extract much (but not all) of its characterizing flavor and aroma. The high vanillin content of our beans means our Pure Vanilla Extract is stronger and does not need added sugar, glycerin or corn syrup to enhance its pure and natural flavor.
Our Pure Vanilla Extract is manufactured in accordance with the U.S. standard of identify. Vanilla is the only flavor that has a standard of identity. This means, by law vanilla extract can only contain certain ingredients to be labeled as pure. The standard of identity requires 13.35 ounces of cured, cut vanilla beans (with a moisture content not greater than 25.00%) be used per gallon of finished extract. The extract must contain a minimum 35.00% alcohol by volume. Glycerin, water and corn syrup are allowed, but not required under the standard of identity for pure vanilla extract.
We also offer vanilla extracts that conform to the standard of identity, but are produced from beans grown in Madagascar and other origins. Our pure vanilla extracts SC18 and SC19 are made exclusively from Madagascar beans or are blends of Madagascar and beans from Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and Uganda. |

Silver Cloud offers the finest cured Vanilla Beans, which can be purchased
in glass tubes containing three beans or 8 ounce and 17 ounce vacuum sealed pouches.
There are approximately 40 beans in an 8 ounce pouch. Since our beans are
sold by weight, depending on the size of the beans, the number in a pouch will
vary.

This month we have added a number of imitation flavors including Peanut Butter. We are focusing our efforts on developing a complete line of flavors that have special appeal to customers of Mexican, South and Central American descent. As part of this effort we have started offering Imitation Dulce de Leche, Horchata and Lychee Extract. We have also added under pure and natural flavors a Chirimoya, Natural Flavor Blend. Next month, look for Papaya, Margarita and Condensed Milk
