Vanilla Butter & Nut Cake
This recipe is off the Superior Product Co. bottle. I have had many customers ask me for this recipe and I thought I would put it on the website.
½ cup vegetable shortening
2 sticks margarine
3 cups sugar
3 cups plain flour
1 cup sweet milk
¼ tsp. salt
3 tsp. Vanilla, Butter & Nut Flavor
Heat the oven 325 deg. Grease 10” tube pan and dust with flour. Cream shortening and margarine together - add sugar and salt gradually. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Add flavor to milk and then add alternatively with flour to above mixture. Put into greased pan and bake at 325 deg. about 1 ½ hours until done.

This cake is delicious and moist and is always a favorite with family and guests. You can adjust the amount of flavor to suit your individual taste
and substitute other flavors for the vanilla, butter and nut. I have used this same recipe and substituted Silver Cloud’s Imitation Maple Extract, Imitation Black Walnut Extract and Imitation Butter Pecan Extract for our Vanilla, Butter & Nut Flavor. When making the cake with these flavors I have typically used 2 tsp. of flavor, in lieu of the 3 tbsp. called for in the above recipe.
